Baseball and Softball Registration Form
Baseball
7 & 8 Year Old Baseball
This coach-pitch league is open to boys who will be age 7 or 8 as of May 1st. Teamwork and sportsmanship are the focus of this league. All players will be guaranteed the opportunity to bat each game.
Tri-County Junior Baseball League
This league is made up of four age groups:
9 & 10 year olds
11 & 12 year olds
13 & 14 year olds
15 & 16 year olds
These ages are determined as of May 1st.American Legion Baseball

Fast Pitch Softball
Grades 1-3 Softball
Fundamentals and team concept are the focus of this league for girls Grades 1-3, as of May 1st. This is a coach-pitch league and all players will get the opportunity to bat. An eleven inch softball is used.
Grades 4-5 Softball
This league follows a similar format to the Grades 1-3 division. Girls in grades 4-5, as of May 1st are invited to participate. An eleven inch softball is used.
Highway 36 Softball League
Two age groups make up this fast pitch league:
Jr. High / Middle School (Grades 6-8)
High School (Grades 9-12)

Tee Ball
This league is open to boys & girls, age 5 & 6. Emphasis will be placed on having fun while learning the basics of baseball/softball. There is a $10.00 fee which will include a team T-shirt.
Softball / Baseball Policies
- Registration forms will be dispersed to the Sabetha schools in late February. These forms may be returned to the schools or City Office with the correct fee. The deadline to register will be March 25, 2009. Fees for all youth baseball and softball leagues are $20.00. If more than two youths in a household play summer ball (tee ball excluded), the maximum fee for the household is $40.00. After March 25, 2009, fees are $30.00 per player, maximum does not apply.
- Teams are coached by volunteers. Any person interested in doing so should contact the City Office at 284-2158.
- Players will be assigned to teams based on a selective draft. Coaches will contact players regarding practice schedule and games.
- Ball game cancellations due to weather will not be made until 4:00 p.m. Such cancellations will be announced on KNZA radio (FM 103.9) around 4:30 p.m.
- Help stop team overload! In order to keep a twelve player roster for youth baseball and softball teams, please register early. Any late registrations will cause problems with too many players per team.
Need Cash?
The Sabetha Parks and Recreation Department will have openings for qualified, dedicated individuals to do umpiring and take tournament gate for the youth summer leagues. There will also be positions for concessions workers, lifeguards, and park maintenance personnel. Apply at the City Office.
Fall Soccer (click for sign up form)
The Northeast Kansas Soccer Association provides a youth soccer program for boys and girls in grades Kindergarten through 6th Grade. The league emphasizes fundamentals, sportsmanship and player participation. Practices are scheduled by the coaches and games are played on Saturdays.

Biddy Baskeball League
This winter league is open to boys and girls in grades 3rd through 6th. The boys and girls will learn fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Emphasis will be placed on having fun while learning the basic skills of basketball through game situations.
