Emergency Services

Emergency Medical Service

Sabetha EMS includes ground service with 3 ambulances staffed by AEMT, EMT, EMR’s, plus a Paramedic that provide 24/7/365 emergency response care to Sabetha and its surrounding area. Our EMS building has full time living quarters at our new, state of the art station for future growth.

Currently there are 25-28 active members that cover our call schedule. EMS staff consists of a wide range of individuals from all walks of life. All EMS volunteers have full/part-time jobs in the community and run on the ambulance on an on-call basis. Members are paid by the hour to cover emergency call and members are paid a flat fee for Sabetha runs, Topeka runs, and runs to Kansas City, Omaha or Lincoln. Four members are on call during the day and night but many more EMT’s who are not on call are often available to respond, should the need arise.

We try to hold new Kansas Board of EMS certified classes at least one time a year at our station. Scholarships are available for new AEMT, EMT & EMR classes. If you are interested in joining this vital service to the community, please feel free to stop by one of our meetings or contact the City of Sabetha for more information.

Sabetha EMS meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at the Emergency Services Building at 508 South 14th Street, Sabetha. Business meeting starts at 6:30 pm and is followed by continuing education for certified personnel.
