Softball / Baseball Policies

  1. Registration forms will be dispersed to the Sabetha schools in late February.   These forms may be returned to the schools or City Office with the correct fee. Fees for all youth baseball and softball leagues are $25.00.  If more than two youths in a household play summer ball (tee ball excluded), the maximum fee for the household is $50.00.  After February 29, 2016, fees are $30.00 per player, WITH NO MAXIMUM. Any player who signs up late will be put on a team of the Recreation Department's discretion.
  2. Teams are coached by volunteers.  Any person interested in doing so should contact the City Office at 284-2158.
  3. Players will be assigned to teams based on a selective draft.  Coaches will contact players regarding practice schedule and games.
  4. Ball game cancellations due to weather will not be made until 4:00 p.m.  Such cancellations will be announced on KNZA radio (FM 103.9) around 4:30 p.m.
  5. Help stop team overload!  In order to keep a twelve player roster for youth baseball and softball teams, please register early.  Any late registrations will cause problems with too many players per team.
